In my game, we have people who arrive late, leave early or can’t make it that day. We’re all adults with busy lives outside the game.

We allow players to control each other’s characters if the owner isn’t present, and this can happen more than once a session. This presents a need to change token/character ownership rapidly and easily, so it doesn’t feel like a burdensome interruption when ‘John’ joins the game an hour late. This actually happens at least once every game session, usually more.
